With a key focus on sustainability, co-founder Bronte Weir explains: “We grow on upcycled materials from local agriculture – we mainly use the leaves from date palm trees. And we use minimal water.” This takes the “waste” from date farming (which accounts for 35% of agriculture in the UAE) and turns it into a nutrient, life-giving source for the Below Farm mushrooms. 

The fresh mushrooms are available to purchase as Spinneys stores. You can also buy the fresh mushrooms, grow kits, powders and pickles online via the Below Farm shop, here. We particularly love the mushroom growing kits, which are great for kids and budding kitchen garden growers.
